members information
If you're a new member of the Belize.Net Web Ring, congratulations and welcome!

All members must abide by the following Rules of Participation (aspiring entrants should read through these as well):

  • Naturalight Productions makes all selections as to which sites will join the Belize.Net Web Ring. As mentioned before, we base our selection on content, design and originality.
  • Belize.Net Web Ring links must go on the front page of your awarded site. Burying the links three levels deep on a page full of other web rings is not fair to other members and is not allowed. Sites that have a "splash page" (logo or title only, no content) will in some cases have the option of linking either from the splash page or the main content page — but remember that whichever page you choose is the first page that visitors via the ring will see. The Belize.Net web ring will always link to the page displaying the PC links.
  • You must use an approved design when linking your site into the ring. If you have an idea for a different design (graphics and/or HTML) that will work better with your site, ask first — it will probably be fine, and if not, we'll work with you to reach a mutually acceptable compromise. We're only mild control-freaks; we just want to maintain quality and a reasonably consistent look.
  • Belize.Net members must be responsible for keeping their own webring information (email address and site URL) current. If your site moves, or you change the URL of your main page, or you switch email addresses, please update promptly! We've provided a handy form at the bottom of this page for that purpose.
  • If you wish to apply to join the Belize.Net Web Ring, use this FORM.

graphics
We have designed our graphics around the natural wonders of Belize. We can custom imprint a graphic with the animal or scene of your choice to enhance your page and make the Belize.Net Web Ring link as attractive as possible. We can also create the graphic to fit a different color background. Just email us and let us know your ideas.

changes to HTML
You will need to make the following changes to the HTML:
  • Save this page as "Source" from within your browser.
  • Find the coding of the link you like.
  • Insert your name in place of the underlining and your email address at the mailto: anchor.
  • Change the four instances of http://www.belize.net/cgi-local/belizering.cgi?action=prev&site= so that the site= is followed by your site ID number. For example, if your site ID is 96, the first (prev) anchor should read:
    http://www.belize.net/cgi-local/belizering.cgi?action=prev&site=96
  • The code above references the graphics in a subdirectory called grc. You may need to rename that part of the code to match your directory structure, or remove the "grc/" entirely if you are placing the Belize.Net Web Ring graphics in the same directory as the HTML file.
  • If the home page for your site uses frames, you'll have to insert the HTML code twice: once in the <NOFRAMES> portion of your page, and once in the main document of your frame, the one that comes up first. That way all visitors to your page (including the CGI that checks ring integrity) can see the links.
Once you have the HTML and graphics on your server, email us and ask us to add to you to the ring. Be sure to include your Site ID number in the message. We'll check everything to make sure it works, and then you'll get an email saying you've been added.
